T. Wright- I was in a violent relationship for years. My family turned their backs on me and I had no friends. One day I went to Walmart and as I was shopping tears was rolling down my face. The lady coming down the asked if I was ok. I was embarrassed and I made up a lie. She seen the bruise on my face and all she said was I’ve been there. She gave me her number but I knew she’s been in my position because she told me where to hide it before I got home. I cried because I didn’t want to go back home. A few days later she helped me get away and I left with nothing except the clothes on my back. Dee Dee set me up with temporary safe housing where he couldn’t find me. She helped me get my first job at 43 years old, she taught me about financing, and credit. I’ve been at my job for 2 years now. I have an emergency fund and most importantly I have my life. I know what it feels like now to be a DIVA as she calls me. Thank you Dee!!!
Kayla S. - At 16 years old I was teen mom with 2 kids. They were ages 2 and 5 months. My mom was in and out of the house so I was always raising my younger siblings. Until someone called CPS and we were all taken away. No one wanted a teenager with kids. Especially with my background. I wasn’t a bad kid I just wanted attention. I thought sex was the way. Plus it helped me feed us. When we were taking away I didn’t want to be separated from my kids. No none would she all of 3 of us in. Diva came along and she changed me life. She took me us in. She got me back in school and helped me graduate on time. She helped with childcare, me getting to school and back, and she gives us so much love. I’m now 20 with my own place and taking college courses online to be in the healthcare field. I never thought that my life would get better. Dee did that I’m glad to share my story with Rising Divas.
Beth C. - An addict addicted to meth in and out of jail and different rehabs that would lie, steal and struggle. While incarcerated for over a year I was told about Rising Divas from my counselor. Miss D picked me up when I was released gave me clothes, a place to stay, and food. I was in a different environment. It was clean away from drugs. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t be on the right path. I’ve been clean for 2 years and I’ve held a job 9 months.

L. Allen- I walked away from an 8 year violent marriage with my kids and nothing but our clothes. I was connected with nicki from rising divas from the church i visit. we had no where to go and they put us in a safe place and provided food for 8 weeks. i attend the divas survival course, and credit course not knowing anything about credit as my husband took care of everything. i now have a job, a safe place for me & my children, and a credit card in my name.
